New Testament Overview

The Making of a Disciple

This course is designed to provide you with an overview of the New Testament. In many college and seminary contexts, such a course would provide a general survey of “introductory issues” related to studying the New Testament (scholarly debates about who wrote the book, where it was written, when it was written, who it was written to, why it was written, etc.). In contrast, our goal will be to help you understand the content of the New Testament and then wrestle with how that content (God’s revelation to us) should impact our lives today. Unlike most Bible courses in the Ignitus Bible Curriculum, this course will focus on providing a big-picture look at the New Testament. This means that we will not be looking at a particular New Testament book verse-by-verse. Instead, we will try to (1) determine some of the primary messages that God is conveying through each New Testament book, and (2) understand the overall message of the New Testament.
